After a series of pre-release functions that occurred in November last year, this week it was finally officially released. The Goddess of Fortunea play directed by Lía Jelín and written by Victor Winerwhich has a room at the Teatro Astros in the City of Buenos Aires.
After the huge success with Toc Toc, this is the “most intelligent and original bet” on the part of Jelín. In this case, it is a comedy starring Ana Maria Coreswho embodies an apparently “normal” mother and who lives a life without surprises until one day she decides to confess to her son who she really is.
However, not everything is what it seems and the confessions and lies begin to unleash an endless number of the most delusional situations, where the different characters surpass reality itself and everyone is willing to break the bank of their hearts.
In short, this is a smart and funny comedy that hopes to make its audience laugh non-stop. Juan Paya, Marcelo Sein, Manu Biaggini and the special performance of Fernando Lupiz They are the ones that complete the cast headed by coreswho on this occasion returns to comedy after having spent many years dedicated, and almost exclusively, to musicals for children and adults.
The functions of The Goddess of Fortune They are at the Teatro Astros (Av. Corrientes 746, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires), on Saturdays (at 8:30 p.m.) and Sundays (at 8:00 p.m.). Tickets to enjoy this work can be purchased both at the theater ticket offices and in the Entrada Uno digital system.
“A Mexican producer called me and told me about a certain Knock Knock. He asked me to find out, and I started asking producers. Nobody knew her. until i spoke to sebastian blutrach and he told me: ‘Did you know that they sent me a Knock Knock two years ago…?. But it sucks’. And I asked him to look for it and pass it on to me,” Lía Jelín told teleshow in 2018 to reveal how he came to have in his hands the great success of Calle Corrientes in recent decades.
Despite breaking box office records, the theater director somewhat reneged on that success at the time. “Annoys me. Knock Knock it typecast me, just what I didn’t want. You have to know how to stay. I was able to swim in the waters of Calle Corrientes. Is not easy. Everyone believes that commercial theater is just that. Ask someone from the independent theater to do a commercial, let’s see if someone goes… ”, she considered in that dialogue with this medium.
“The stage theater is like the Universe: it goes in circles in which there is no top, bottom, front, profile… And if you enter this game in which you are not doing Italian-style theater, with a front that is only comfort, things get more interesting. An understanding of the scenic space is achieved where you don’t have to move for the sake of moving, but the actor’s inner dramatic and emotional impulse is transferred to the space. Space as a dramatic element too, even if it is not explicit, ”he considered.
