The combination of heat and humidity could fuel severe storms by Monday afternoon.
The window of time in which the severe storms scattered through the area are expected to be from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm, but thunderstorms are not ruled out until midnight.
The main hazards are damaging winds gusting to 60 to 70 miles per hour, hail, and heavy rain. There is a possibility of an isolated tornado.
“Temperatures are in the mid and high 90s, and triple-digit wind chills have already been recorded in some parts,” said weather expert Janet Bolívar. “The national meteorological service calculated that the risk is level three on the scale of up to five for parts of the area. It is not a band of organized storms, but scattered ones that are going to pass through the region”.
