Cay Dobberke reports from CHARLOTTENBURG-WILMERSDORF on the following topics, among others:

  • A “clean Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf action plan” is intended to slow down the increasing littering of public spaces. The district office currently has to spend 20 percent of the annual green maintenance budget on waste disposal in green areas. The environmental and regulatory city council called the cause Oliver Schruoffeneger (Greens) in the BVV environmental committee that “awareness of wrongdoing no longer exists”. Therefore, “we must start with the children”; there are already school projects. The city council wants to link permits for outdoor catering to the fact that the restaurants do not offer disposable tableware. Another original idea: From March onwards, interested parties should be able to rent a district-owned cargo bike with an electric drive, which is “fully equipped for picnics” including a rubbish bin. More on this in the newsletter, other topics this time include:
  • Life above the Autobahn: a photographer shows pictures of the Schlangenbader Strasse housing estate
  • We report from the BVV
  • Green Week starts with 1400 exhibitors from 60 countries
  • Senate wants to turn the ICC into a cultural center
  • Two-wheelers on parking lots? That’s what district politicians say about the “division of the parking space”
  • Construction containers are still spoiling Henriettenplatz on Ku’damm
  • Music school celebrates anniversary
  • New building opened on the Hubertus sports field – BSC club president criticizes the lack of toilets
  • Workshop for old clocks has to close
