Indictment hearing for Trump aide postponed to July 6

Miami.- The judge who was going to prosecute this Tuesday Waltin Nautapersonal assistant to former US President Donald Trump, on charges related to classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago, the former president’s residence in South Florida, postponed the hearing until July 6.

Nauta had difficulties appearing today for the hearing in the federal courts in Miami due to air traffic problems caused by storms and bad weather, but also his lawyer still lacks a local lawyer who can represent him in Florida.

The one who was Trump’s military assistant during his Presidency (2017-2021) and then remained in his personal service will be accused of 38 charges, one more than his former boss, who faces 37 for crimes such as illegally withholding secret US Defense documents and obstruction of justice, punishable by jail time and fines.

Very little public attended the courts for the Nauta hearing unlike when Trump was indicted on June 13 in the same courts, but a multitude of journalists did attend who had to leave empty-handed.

Because he did not have a local lawyer to represent him, Nauta, 41, could not be prosecuted on June 13 along with Trump, who pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The Prosecutor’s Office accuses Nauta of having helped Trump move boxes with official documents inside Mar-a-Lago so that FBI agents and the former president’s lawyers could not find them.
