Mexico City.- The National Electoral Institute (INE) denied the precautionary measures requested by a citizen against Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard for alleged pre-campaign and campaign acts, personalized promotion, violation of the principle of impartiality and improper use of public resources.

The Complaints and Complaints Commission of the Institute considered that in the denounced publications the urgency or danger of the delay is not noticed, since it will not be until September 2023 when the 2023-2024 electoral process will begin.

The precautionary measures were also requested against Juan Carlos Barragán Vélez and Julieta García Zepeda, local deputies from the state of Michoacán.

Regarding the publications that are disseminated on networks, the Commission determined that they are aimed at a specific audience, so that in order to access them there must be the will of the people who seek them to know their content.

In addition, he indicated, the publications were made at different times, so a detailed search is required for anyone interested in consulting them.

“Regarding the publications made in digital media, the Commission also determined the inadmissibility of the precautionary measures, since, apparently, it is an activity that is part of the journalistic work of the media,” he added.

The Commission did not approve the precautionary measures in their preventive guardianship aspect, considering that they are future events of uncertain realization.

The project was approved unanimously with the votes of Adriana Favela, president of the Commission, the counselor Claudia Zavala and the counselor Ciro Murayama.
