This becomes clearer for the design of the iPhone 15 Pro. It is now the subject of a 3D rendering based on a computer-aided design (CAD) obtained by a manufacturer of shells for the Apple phone.

The file in question, given by Apple to an Asian factory to prepare the shells of the iPhone 15 Pro, gives a fairly clear overview of what the next high-end smartphone from the Apple brand could look like.

The change in continuity

As is often the case, smartphone case makers receive computer-aided product designs in advance so they can design their accessories in advance and sell them on release day. It is precisely on a file of this kind that 3D artist Ian Zelbo based to give a preview of what the iPhone 15 Pro could look like.

The major change in the next iPhone is its move to a USB-C connector. The European Union had to force Apple’s hand, but the American brand will finally join its competitors in adopting a universal port. It’s been a real shake-up for iPhones that use the Lightning port (and all the accessories that go with it), since 2012. A few hours ago, a leaker also shared what he claims is a “real photo” of the iPhone 15 Pro USB-C port. You can find it below.

Now back to our 3D rendering. We also see that the iPhone 15 Pro could have more rounded edges on the metal frame, but also on the glass that we would find on the front and back. What make the next iPhone less angular and perhaps more pleasant to hold in hand.

Already a sword on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, the camera block could still be overweight. A thickness that suggests that Apple would update its camera modules with new sensors or lenses. On the other hand, the layout does not move. The three modules and the LiDAR sensor are still integrated into a square camera block.

The volume buttons also look… different. It could no longer be physical, but capacitive. It’s hard to be definitive on this based on a simple 3D rendering, but this change in size has already been mentioned by an Apple supplier.

Let’s finish this overview with the screen which should benefit from thinner borders. Thus, Apple would choose to keep the 6.1-inch screen, but to integrate it into a smaller chassis. The “Dynamic Island” pill would still be in the game, with a size similar to that of the iPhone 14 Pro.

To read : The iPhone 14 Pro Max is sold for €1,479, but how much does it cost to produce?

All this is obviously to be taken with a grain of salt insofar as Apple will not confirm anything before the official presentation of its iPhone 15. An event which should take place, like every year, around the month of September. Until then, new indiscretions should surface.
