Scholarships represent one of the means most used by Algerian students to finance studies abroad. In this wake, a new opportunity appears for these students, but this time for Italy.
As part of the project to promote international cooperation between the universities of the southern shore of the Mediterranean and Sardinia, the universities of Calgari and Sassari offer the possibility to students from Mediterranean universities, in particular those of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, to continue their studies in Italy.
Sardinia universities offer scholarships for Algerians
These scholarships relate to several specialties, including: Sciences, pharmacies, medicine and law. On the other hand, only students from the University of Algiers 1 are concerned by this scholarship program. The mobility of these students will take place during the academic year 2023/2024 and 2024/2025, and their arrival is required for September 2023, for a period of 22 months.
This scholarship program aims to develop excellence in the higher education sector. To do this, the Sardinia Foundation finances numerous mobility grants for Algerian students. As part of these scholarships, the winners will be entitled to:
- A scholarship whose amount is up to 650 euros;
- Coverage of accident insurance and liability insurance;
- Reimbursement of residence permit application fees and payment of the ERSU regional tax, in particular within the limit of 400 euros.
Scholarships for Italy: application procedure
To benefit from these 22-month scholarships for Italy, Algerian students must submit their application files before May 8, 2023. The application file must include:
- The application form to download by ici ;
- A copy of the candidate’s passport;
- A certificate attesting to knowledge of English and/or Italian: a B2 is required for English, and at least a B1 for Italian;
- The candidate’s CV;
- university degrees;
- the average of the exams and the credits acquired by the candidate;
- And finally the transcripts of past exams.
Candidates will be pre-selected by their faculties. However, the final selection will be made by the host organizations, namely the universities of Calgari and Sassari.
