MEXICO CITY (appro).– Given the dissemination on social networks of a video in which the head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, claims that Alfonso Durazo received her with shouts of “even floor”, the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador responded: “I can’t get in, but it’s already a season like the heat season, it’s also the other heat season and things are going to come out, but all of that is normal.”
He explained that the most important thing is that there be democracy, that it be the people who decide, that there be an even floor, “that we all make history. That we banish the finger, the cover up, the uncovering, the charged, the manipulation in the media”.
The federal president complained that those who make profits during election campaigns are hired publicists, especially foreigners, “there is even a group of international publicist mercenaries.”
He said that they are hired to recommend to the candidates or to those who aspire to win an election “grooming well, dressing well and laughing, “waving, strutting and hugging, carrying, kissing children, all that”, he also pointed out that there is another group to those he called “dirty war specialist mercenaries.”
The president gave the example of what happened in 2006 with the hiring of an American political adviser, Dick Morris, “and he is the same one who started working with publicists here and with Calderón’s brother-in-law, Hildebrando Zavala, who He had a company that advised for the vote counting, time passed and the shares of that company were bought by Carlos Slim for a few million, already when Calderón was holding the Presidency… Morris and (Antonio Solá) were the ones who coined the phrase that I was a danger to Mexico, and that same one was hired by the Republican Party.”
This Wednesday, the video of what happened during the National Council of Morena on Sunday, June 11, was released, an event that was behind closed doors and in which it was requested not to use the cell phone. The moment was when Sheinbaum approaches Durazo to claim that she was greeted with shouts from supporters of the other candidate for the Presidency in 2024, Marcelo Ebrard, inside the hotel where the event was held. She expressed “I’m tired” and “they only received me (…) it’s not worth it”, to which the also governor of Sonora replied: “There is no agreement”, according to what was reported by the petista Gerardo Fernández Noroña.
