Justice dismissed this Friday Franco Rolón, the taxi driver and police officer who killed two criminals during an attempted robbery. The event occurred on August 18, 2020, on the border that divides the city of Santo Tomé and Sauce Viejo.

During the hearing held today in the Santa Fe courts, Judge Leandro Lazzarini issued a dismissal for the young man who was the victim of an armed robbery and repelled the attack with bullets with his service weapon. Almost three years after the events, the investigation confirmed that it was a case of legitimate defense.

“Franco was the victim of an illegitimate attack,” pointed out Agustín Márquez, defense attorney for the sender who had previously been charged with double homicide.

In addition, after the result of the hearing, the lawyer remarked: “From the beginning of the investigation to the subsequent outcome, the path was paved towards the qualification of self-defense.”

Lastly, he held that “The dismissal of Rolón corresponds, because when the preparatory criminal investigation was exhausted, it was possible to corroborate that he acted in legitimate defense.”
