“For six years, the collective Together against sexism has organized an event every January 25 to fight against sexism,” recalled the head of state in a tweet.

“For a more egalitarian society and because this fight is everyone’s business, January 25 will now become the national day against sexism,” he added.

The proposal to dedicate a national day to this cause had been made by the High Council for Equality (HCE) to the president who accepted it, it was specified at the Élysée.
