After a series of robberies on taxi drivers in Duisburg, the police published an identikit of a man. This is now also circulating in Essen.
A taxi robber wanted by the Duisburg police is causing uncertainty in the Essen radio car industry: drivers are currently sharing an identikit image of the alleged perpetrator via internet platforms, who could be responsible for three armed robberies – including the note: “Colleagues, please be careful. This guy gets in the cab and attacks the drivers and wants to steal the wallets.”
It is still apparently a purely precautionary warning that the unknown could also strike in Essen. As police spokesman Matthias Werk explained when asked, there was no current case in the city in which a taxi driver had been attacked and robbed.
The search for the unknown is a “top manhunt”
The identikit of the person being searched for, prepared by specialists from the State Criminal Police Office (LKA), can be found in the search portal of the North Rhine-Westphalian police under the heading with the highest priority. The search for him is listed as a “top manhunt”.
Probably not without reason: the man is dangerous, he threatened his three Duisburg victims with a knife. The authorities are investigating because of particularly severe predatory extortion and predatory attacks on drivers.
The raids happened within a few days. The approximately 25-year-old criminal struck for the last time on December 19, according to the Duisburg police, who assume that all three acts can be attributed to a man because the descriptions of the perpetrators of the victims – a woman and two men – are identical .
The suspect may be armed
The slim unknown is about 1.80 meters tall. He has a black beard and black hair, was wearing a dark jacket, light-colored jeans and white sneakers. The Criminal Police Office 13 of the Duisburg police accepts information under the number 0203/2800.
The call for witnesses is linked to an explicit warning: “Since the person you are looking for may be armed, you must inform the police and do not speak to the suspect!”
