The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, met this afternoon in Uruguay with directors of the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) to agree on the organization’s disbursement of US$ 690 million over the next 60 days, for already approved credit lines.

The meeting with Massa was attended by Jorge Srur, CAF’s South regional manager; Patricia Alborta, CAF representative in Argentina; Francois Borit, CAF representative in Uruguay.

The meeting between the Ministry of Economy and the CAF authorities will allow the country “to obtain a disbursement of 690 million dollars in a 60-day plan,” sources from the Palacio de Hacienda explained.

Thus, at the meeting the disbursement schedule for Argentina was signed, which allows access to financing between now and June 30 through what are called rapid disbursement programs.

This gives viability to the financing of part of the projects that already exist from the Latin American Development Bank in Argentina and strengthens the reserves.

A month ago, in the city of Santiago de Chile, the regional organization had announced the immediate disbursement of US$300 million to finance a Program for the Promotion of the Social Model of Disability and Access to Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Andis). .

On the same occasion, it had confirmed the approval of the credit for US$ 540 million for the Reversion project of the North Gas Pipeline and Complementary Works to the President Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline.

This immediately executed work will allow gas to be brought from the unconventional formation of Vaca Muerta to northern Argentina, guaranteeing supply to homes and industries in the region, and allowing export to Chile through the NorAndes gas pipeline.

During the meeting, the contract for the project called La Carlota – Tío Pujio was signed, which makes it possible to build the second stage of the Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline.

The work will allow Argentina, with five compression plants and a reversal, to access the possibility of supplying all of northern Argentina, Bolivia and southern Brazil.
