Just one day away from Christmas, Colombia registers an unfortunate case of violence in the department of Meta. According to the preliminary information exposed, at least eight people were killed in the rural area of the municipality of Mapiripán. The authorities are present in the area to try to determine those responsible for the heinous crime, however, there is still no official report from them.
So far, it is presumed that the victims would range between 20 and 25 years of age, in the same way, the place where the violent act was perpetrated, would be a business dedicated to the sale of liquor. In turn, an unofficial version provided to Guaviare Estéreo revealed that there would not be eight victims, but that the number of deaths could rise to 10, clearly, said information has not been confirmed by the authorities.
Likewise, the versions obtained by the local media indicate that armed men arrived at the scene and without saying a word shot at the victims, before fleeing and leaving no trace. The arrival of the authorities to the place would have been complicated, taking into account that it is a rural area and access to it is limited.

The authorities continue with the search for two people who were detained in recent days, being in this case Vicente Ortiz Álvarez, who is the father of the general secretary of the Ministry of Justice, in turn, the whereabouts of Mr. Jhon are unknown. Kennedy Osorio, a farmer from this region. The search for these people has focused on the Ariari region and the municipalities of Granada and Lejanías.
Regarding the issue, General Henry Armando Sanabria Cely, general director of the National Police, stressed that the accompaniment of families continues:
“It is about establishing whether there are economic demands on the relatives of the two kidnapped, and of course the family calls for prudence, and of course, the National Police accompanies the families in these hard times, where unfortunately there are two people who have already completed several days of deprivation of liberty.”
The general was emphatic in pointing out that it is necessary that the community does not fall into the game of criminals, because by paying a ransom for kidnapping, it is ensuring that the criminals continue with their behavior, subjecting both the kidnapped and themselves relatives.
“The idea is to guarantee people’s lives, that is the main thing, non-payment of ransoms is a national strategy to prevent more kidnappings from taking place, to the extent that a kidnapping is paid, the possibility of a new one opens up. , so what is wanted is that no type of rescue is turned off ”, he explained.

In the same way, he explained that the money demanded by the two people targeted is around one thousand three hundred million pesos in total: “From those criminals, they are demanding, on the one hand, one thousand million pesos and on the other 300 million of pesos”, he explained.
