During February’s Nintendo Direct, the Japanese firm released on the heels of its Metroid Prime Remastered event on Switch. Metroid Prime 2 & 3 soon on Nintendo Switch?
The most famous bounty hunter in video games is back in action. If the players were hoping for images of the Arlesian Metroid 4, they were finally rewarded with a remaster of the very first episode of the license. Long mentioned and never confirmed until the last Nintendo Direct, the Gamecube title is now available on Nintendo Switch in digital version. The often well-informed Jeff Grubb asserts that versions remastered from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption were well in development on Nintendo Switch, as it had announced in the past. It is therefore very likely that Big N wants to spread the release of the three games over time in order to prepare for the arrival of the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4, of which we are still without news. He reiterates, however, that the two titles in question would not be entitled to such extensive treatment as Metroid Prime Remastered, particularly in terms of visual optimizations and gameplay improvements.
Metroid Prime 2 and 3 Remastered should therefore be closer to the original versions than the title currently available on Nintendo Switch.
