Fernando Burlandothe attorney representing the parents of Fernando Baez Sosastated this Wednesday that “There is no more miserable attitude in life than to accuse an innocent person and deprive him of his freedom”referring to the false incrimination of the rower Paul Ventura by the rugbiers accused of homicide.
“I’m a very short time away from starting to insult everyone. What are you sons of bitches laughing at? They can’t laugh at anything”Burlando asserted after Ventura’s statement, when the media asked him if some of the defendants began to laugh at the hearing.
In this sense, the lawyer launched: “Although they laugh at a matter that has nothing to do with the trial, in this temple that is the courtroom, in addition, Fernando’s parents are there, they cannot do it. If they did that, they’re reverend sons of bitches.”.
Before the beginning of the third day of debate in the Oral Criminal Court (TOC) 1 of Dolores, the lawyer had assured that the rower “he was wrongfully accused”.
“If you are innocent, you do what Ventura did (make yourself available to Justice); if you are not, you divert the action of Justice by saying that your shoe, which was number 41 and of (Maximum) thomsonyou say that he is from Ventura who wears 50″, said the lawyer, adding that said element “is conclusive proof, that beyond the imprint of the sole reproduced on Fernando’s skin, he had DNA”.

Finally, the lawyer referred to the testimony of Thomas D’alessandroone of Fernando’s friends who was beaten along with him and who testified yesterday at the trial: “Tomás was one of the boys who risked the most. He tried by all means to save his friend and the brutality of the kicks is evident. So how could they have kicked Fernando if Tomás’s were tremendous”he concluded.
