Money crisis in Cuba: Thousands of Cubans have not been able to collect their July salaries

This occurs at a time when the cash crisis continues to mean that Cuban workers have not yet received their July salary and when the regime seems to have put a brake on the accelerator with which it launched its new financial corralito on the island.

After the harsh criticism from Cubans of the regime’s financial corral, banking authorities tried to calm this discontent, now saying that the zero cash will advance in places where the conditions exist and that it is a gradual process from which today peasants and fishermen would be outside.

But economist Jorge Sanguinetty warns of the danger for the regime of not having to pay its employees the cash that they also need to buy many of their basic needs on the black market.

Despite showing signs of slowing down the speed with which it announced its zero cash due to the discontent of many Cubans over this measure, the regime continues its media campaign to try to convince them to trust the banks, deposit the money they have on the black market and use the electronic payment applications controlled by a regime that, by all accounts, does not have the foreign currency it needs to produce the Cuban pesos that are so scarce today.
