For their RTL2 documentary “The Geissens – A Terribly Glamorous Family”, the millionaire Geiss family not only stands in front of the camera, but also has the reins in their hands behind it.
Hamburg – The reality format “The Geissens – A Terribly Glamorous Family” has been flickering across the TV screens for over ten years. However, little was known about its origin. At the “Online Marketing Rockstars” festival in Hamburg, head of the family Robert Geiss (59) has now granted a rare insight behind the scenes.
Robert Geiss: “We can do it better ourselves”
The family council would consider “what we want to experience in the next two to four weeks,” quotes “Bild.de” from the millionaire. They would then send “the finished product to RTL2”. Robert Geiss, his wife Carmen (58) and their two daughters Davina (19) and Shania (18) have full control over what is shown on television.
The reason why the family does not give up responsibility is simple: “We can do it better ourselves,” says Robert Geiss, adding jokingly: “My job is to get money that the family spends again.”
Geissens should earn 60,000 euros per episode
According to “Bild”, the Geissens should collect around 60,000 euros per twisted episode. Since the first broadcast of “The Geissens – A Terribly Glamorous Family” a lot of money has come together. And the fortune should continue to grow: the format would continue “as long as people want to see us,” promises Robert Geiss.
RTL2 has been accompanying the Geissens since 2011. Robert Geiss had previously earned millions as a co-founder of the sportswear company Uncle Sam. With the fashion label Roberto Geissini, which was launched in 2013, and the purchase and sale of luxury properties, there are additional sources of income.
In the new episode of “The Geissens” it gets pretty embarrassing for Carmen. Because a metal detector suddenly hits her behind. Source used: Bild.de
