The 56-year-old woman was reportedly “abducted” and gagged from February 1 to 6.

A couple from Luxembourg have been indicted for kidnapping, theft and fraud against a vulnerable person and the man for rape, the Metz prosecutor’s office told AFP on Tuesday.

The couple, a 43-year-old man and his 38-year-old partner, had been staying since the end of January in Hagondange in Moselle with the victim, a 56-year-old quadriplegic woman.

The Metz prosecutor’s office did not give more information on the nature of their relationship but explained that things would have “quickly degenerated”.

Sequestered for five days

The couple were arrested on February 8 following a violent altercation at the victim’s home.

The latter claimed “to have been kidnapped” and gagged, detailed the deputy prosecutor Thomas Bernard to AFP, “from February 1 to 6”, a period during which the victim also denounced the theft of his credit card and a scam.

The man is also indicted for rape which “would have taken place before, precisely at the end of January”, indicated the deputy prosecutor.

The couple was presented a week ago to an examining magistrate. They were remanded in custody.
