Relatives and friends of the young Cuban Elvis Matos, deceased last week in a tragic traffic accident in the US, they paid a massive tribute to him through the streets of Reparto Eléctrico, a neighborhood in the Havana municipality orange streamwhere he was born and raised.
A heartfelt video published on social networks shows a caravan of dozens of motorcycles and other vehicles parading through the streets and presided over by large photos of the young man.
“With the great pain felt by all those people who loved him, for his joy, for his charisma, for being good among the good and great among the great, this tribute is paid to him”said one of his friends in the audio of the emotional farewell message, which adds to other expressions of pain for the premature loss of the young man.
Elvis Matos died on the morning of July 21 in a spectacular crash in the city of Lansing, in the state of Michigan.
The young man, who had been reunited with his mother in that US city on October 15 after a long land journey to the border, would have lost control of his vehicle and crashed into another car, according to local reports about the tragedy.
Police and firefighters went to the scene of the incident and determined that speed would have been a determining factor in the fatal outcome. Only the young man died in this event.
