San Luis Potosí.- Municipal officials of Tampamolón, San Luis Potosí, used heavy-caliber weapons, including one known as a “goat’s horn” to fire shots into the air during the end of the year.

One of those involved was identified as director of Public Works of the City Council, named Hermes Sánchez Cano.

Another of those present would be the Commander of the Municipal Police of the demarcation, according to Governor Ricardo Gallardo, who requested jail for the officials who participated.

“Today we all have to give results, the issue is that as the director of the Police appears to be R15 owned by the Municipal Police, the investigation goes beyond that the weapons have been stolen, imagine, instead of the weapons are taking care of the population on December 31; the municipal officials were surely sent to rest and they brought the weapons firing at the festivities,” he said when questioned about it.

He indicated that the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) should intervene as they are weapons for the exclusive use of federal jurisdiction, for which reason he requested that the pertinent investigations be carried out to determine the responsibilities.

The State President urged the 58 mayors of the State to join the effort to combat this type of action by example.

REFORMA searched for the name of the head of Tampamolón Municipal Public Safety and Transit, however, on the official website of the City Council, it only mentions Olimpia Delgado Hervert, as deputy director of the Secretariat.
