At $18 million per episode, One Piece’s budget is no small feat. Nevertheless, those responsible at Netflix made a mistake that some viewers are quite amused about.

Is that Wado Ichimonji…made of rubber?

What is it about? During Luffy and Zorro’s fight against Captain Morgen with the hatchet hand, the (former) pirate hunter rolls out of the way. In just a few seconds you can see that actor Mackenyu doesn’t carry real swords with him and use them in stunts, but rather dummies.

Zorro sword (of all things, the Wado Ichimonji of his childhood friend Kunia) turns out to be surprisingly flexible and the scene has, for example, on YouTube or TikTok caused a lot of amusement. That’s what some critics call the mistake awkwardbut others understand that with such a large production something can slip through.

And then there are also those who, with a wink, say that Luffy is easy the powers of the sun god Nika used with which he can bend almost everything and everyone like rubber. However, only readers of the manga who are up to date on the manga, which is over 1,000 chapters long, will probably understand this.

Back to the topic: The Chinese YouTuber Huber took care of the film error in One Piece – and quickly fixed it himself. In his video, which now has over 240,000 views, he shows how he does this with Adobe After Effects. But be warned: the video itself is in Chinese:

The YouTuber is celebrated for his action in the comments and some YouTube users even think that based on this, Netflix should definitely cancel it. However, someone responds by saying that Huber wouldn’t earn nearly as much as a CGI artist as he currently does on YouTube. Sad but (probably) true.

By the way, Huber isn’t the only one who took on Zorro’s rubber sword, YouTuber Jaze Phua reacted in his video very similar.
