Unsettled weather maintains periods of cloud over southern New England to start the weekend. While there may be some showers in the pockets, Saturday’s rain is not widespread.

Traces are likely in the greater Boston area, while the heaviest rainfall in the West will amount to nearly a tenth of an inch.

By the end of the day, the rains begin to end. Slowly but surely the clouds will break up throughout Sunday as warmer air moves in.

Much of the region will see high temperatures in the 80s, under dry skies. The respite from the rain won’t last long. We are tracking another system early to mid next week.

Its genesis will bring severe weather across the Ark-La-Tex corridor and I-20. While the storm’s track should change, it will need to be observed early next week.
