A man, suspected of being one of the two people who fled comedian Pierre Palmade’s vehicle after the accident on Friday, has been arrested, according to a police source at BFMTV confirming information from the Parisian. The woman who was hosting him was also arrested.

The suspect was arrested in Clichy-la-Garenne (Hauts-de-Seine). The other fugitive is however still wanted.

The two passengers called to “surrender”

Pierre Palmade is the cause of a road accident which left three seriously injured, he was under the influence of cocaine at the time of the tragedy. A 38-year-old man and his 6-year-old son were still in intensive care Tuesday. The third seriously injured is a 27-year-old pregnant woman who lost her baby.

Witnesses reported that two passengers who were in Pierre Palmade’s vehicle had fled after the collision. According to these witnesses, the two passengers were in their twenties. On Monday, a 47-year-old homeless man was taken into police custody in the Somme after claiming to be one of the two fleeing passengers from the comedian’s car “and wanting to surrender”, according to sources close to the investigation.

Drunk, he could not be heard right away. He finally admitted on Tuesday “having invented these words” and confusedly mentioned the “possibility of a bet” with acquaintances, said one of the sources familiar with the matter. His custody was lifted, but he was taken back into custody for his false statements.
