Game News Pokémon Scarlet / Violet: a big patch announced, and we already know when it will arrive!
Launched on November 18, the 9th generation is set to break all license records. In a single weekend, 10 million copies were sold on Switch, and both versions are still charting high. But many players are waiting to find out if the next generation is going to be optimized and if expansions will be announced.
A big update expected before spring!
Pokémon Scarlet/Purple has been overall well received. The transition to open worldthe new mechanics, and the 9th generation pokemon knew how to please the public and the critics, who all the same not hesitate to point out the problems of the game. If the adventure and the new orientation were appreciated, this is not the case for the technical aspect of the title. Weak textures, slowdowns and bugs were pointed out, and the first big patch did little to change the overall experience. A technical state that put back on the table the question of production deadlinesand which caused a form of indignation with regard to the power of the franchise.
A part of the public was able to ignore it, but many players expressed their disappointment or their anger to see a license like pokemon offer an experience of a level lower than the capabilities of the console, whose hardware is dated. As promised despite everything, GameFreak is currently developing a new patch, which will fix a number of bugs, but which will also add a new feature. The Pokémon Company did not specify the nature of the bugs that will be fixed as well as that of the new functionality, but one thing is certain: it is not the support for Pokémon Home.
The paid storage application will be made compatible with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in the spring, i.e. after the release of patch 1.2.0. If it is still quite mysterious in its content, the patch already has a release window. It will arrive at the end of February, and many players believe that this corresponds to the possible broadcast of a Pokémon Presents, which would detail the roadmap and announce expansions on the model of those of Sword Shield. By then, we should have details on the upcoming update.
More than 1000 pokémon, a new series… the license still as dynamic
Remember that with the introduction of the ninth generation, the National Pokédex now has 1008 pokemon. To mark the occasion, GameFreak published a video of more than eight minutes which highlights these 9 generations, with animations and images from the various generations. Something to bring back memories to historical players, and to arouse the curiosity of newcomers.
After more than 25 years of career, the license is still in good shape, and it is, for the moment in any case, unthinkable to see its popularity collapse. Big changes are on the way, however, with the end of the adventures of Ash, who will be replaced by a duo of characters in a new anime that will debut this year.
