Police arrest suspect in stabbing student

Police arrest a student they say stabbed another teen in the stomach at Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn.

The 15-year-old victim was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he is expected to recover.

According to the uniformed officer, the suspect stabbed the student around 9:30 a.m. this morning, which caused the school to be closed for several hours.

During this time, the parents demanded that the police inform them what had happened and why they would not let their children out. Finally the students left school at 3:30 in the afternoon.

“Inside the school it is the first time something like this happens, but since then the children have already had incidents like this outside the school near the subway. “I think that’s why the school hasn’t taken precautions to prevent something like this from happening.”

Police say they have a person of interest in custody and confirmed it is another student who knew the victim.
