In the great special announced by Netflix for the thirtieth anniversary of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers there will be an illustrious absentee. We are talking about Amy Jo Johnson, actress known for playing as the original Pink Ranger, one of the most popular characters among fans. And it was she who revealed the reason for her lack of presence on the show on Twitter.

In her place will be Catherine Sutherland as the second Pink Ranger. The special will also feature Barbara Goodson, voice of Rita Repulsa, Richard Horvitz, voice of Alpa 5, and new entry Charlie Kersh as Minh, daughter of the original Yellow Ranger Trini. It has not been specified whether or not there will be a tribute in honor of the original Green Ranger Jason David Frank, who sadly passed away at the age of 49 by suicide. David Yost, the series’ longest-serving actor, said he was thrilled to be able to play alongside his colleagues and don the Ranger costume once again.
The 30th anniversary special will be called Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always and will arrive on Netflix on April 19. This is the official synopsis: The Rangers will have to deal with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called upon once again to be the heroes the world needs. Inspired by the franchise’s legendary mantra ‘Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger’, Once & Always reminds everyone that when you become a Ranger, you are always part of the Ranger family and always welcome. Also on Netflix, Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury will arrive in the fall, a series that will continue the adventures told in PowerRangers: Dino Fury. The team will embark on a journey through space, unlocking new cosmic powers and defending the universe from the return of the notorious villain Lord Zedd.
