The opening and closing ceremonies of the San Salvador 2023 Games that the country will celebrate from June 23 to July 8 will take place in this sports setting. The stadium will also host athletics competitions.
Luis Mejía Oviedo stated that he was very satisfied with the progress and recalled that this was his second visit to the stadium.
“I had come when we made the request for the venue, now we have found an almost total change of what will be the new Jorge “El Mágico” González National Stadium, which is emblematic and will be the venue for the opening ceremony and athletics, which are two things very important, and I can say that I am extremely satisfied with this visit, everything has been presented to us and everything has been answered,” said the head of Centro Caribe Sports.
Accompanying the tour were Dinora Acevedo, general director of COSSAN2023 Jimena Saldaña, vice president of Centro Caribe Sports; Francisco Camacho, sports minister of the Dominican Republic; Armando Bruni, president of the El Salvador Olympic Committee and other personalities from the regional sports entity.
“The company that is in charge has experience with 40 to 50 tracks that they have set up. I wanted to get certified with specialized personnel and we are very satisfied with the progress of the work, they are even working in two shifts and there are new features such as the track heating at height. True professionals are working on this work and I am leaving with complete peace of mind that this work will be ready and certified for the Games that begin on June 23 and it will be a great work”, the sports leader of Dominican origin expanded.
