The 34-year-old man, who would have taken advantage of his role as pai within the Umbanda cult to commit a series of abuses of minors inside his temple in Villa Azul (a popular settlement that is part of the municipalities of Quilmes and Avellaneda), will continue to detained and could continue to be deprived of his liberty until trial.

According to the newspaper Política del Sur, sources close to the investigation indicated that preventive detention was confirmed for the subject identified as Juan Alberto Delgado (34), to whom the outrageous acts that he would have committed against minors are attributed.

Delgado, a native of the province of Misiones, was discovered by the testimony of one of the victims, who would have been encouraged to tell what he suffered, despite the threats of the alleged abuser.

“If you tell someone something, something bad is going to happen to your mom,” Delgado would have repeated, in an intimidating way, to all his victims, who ratified his statements before the Justice, which acted immediately and arrested the suspect.

According to the complaints, the defendant pretended to be “between asleep” to touch the genitals of the boys, who even pulled down their pants despite the fact that they tried to resist.

Delgado was arrested during a raid that was carried out on a property located at Calle 877 at 2100, almost at the intersection with Camino General Belgrano.

The Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 8, specialized in the subject of sexual crimes, of the Judicial Department of Quilmes, intervened in said case, which labeled the case “reiterated simple sexual abuse, in four events, in a real contest with aggravated sexual abuse in perfect contest”.
