If there’s a band that knows what it’s like to throw a real party, That group must be The Invisible Friends. The proof? His concert at the House of Vans in CDMX on June 30.
The Venezuelan combo brings the record under his arm Cool lovewhich they just released in 2022. But this party not only lent itself to listening to these new songs live and in a more intimate show than usual; those classics that have made them one of the most beloved bands in Latin America also came out. The Invisible Friends at the House of Vans in CDMX
Invisible Friends are great guys and that is something that is appreciated from the moment they get on stage. The band took the stage at the House of Vans in CDMX and before the show began, vocalist Julio Briceño bowed because the gratitude to the fans is immediate.
Of course it is not for less because the place was full. Like we said, this was a little more intimate show than one might think; the HoV of the Mexican capital allows us to be closer to the stage and for the same reason, the vibe that is lived in the main track of the public is different from any other.
The Invisible Friends party started a little after 9 at night and the funky vibe dropped with tracks like “Antes de dormir” and “Malpensada”. Pure good dancing, mainly encouraged by the good vibes of Julio himself, who when he doesn’t sing, takes out the forbidden steps.
“Thanks to you for being here, let’s dance tonight”, said the vocalist… and boy did we do it. Even the staff member who handled the equalization consoles brought his microphone to accompany the choirs. Here no one was left without singing, then.
Pure funky-disco good for a fun night
Los Amigos Invisibles’ signature hallmark comes with that Latin-influenced funky-disco that no one else handles. And at the House of Vans in CDMX, it was very clear when he came a powerful batch of songs like “Amor”, “Glad to Know You” and “Ease Your Mind” that came together in a medley made for the most partygoers.
“Let’s see, Mexico”, Julio said to make the people applaud to the rhythm that he himself set. And right away, we dropped that great song called “Corazón Tatú” which is an example of the joy they always project when they get on to do what they know best.
There was not a single moment when the power dropped. And it is remarkable what Los Amigos Invisibles do because, although time passes, that euphoric feeling of playing does not let go.
It is contagious, powerful, especially when other tracks like the likes of “I will live for you” or “Wait for me”, which obviously awaken the sweet side of the public. Not the least cheesy resists, the truth.
Julio asks “How is Mexico doing?” and of course the energetic frontman says it out of courtesy. But if we’re being honest, the answer is pretty obvious: the people at the House of Vans in CDMX were enjoying it like never before.
A short sample of Aqua’s “Barbie Girl” followed by a short introduction to Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean” led to “Koo-ooh”. “Tonight they will do the cuchi-cuchi?” Julio says joking with the audience… It was already a lot of romance; it was time to get flirty.
And that’s what the night of Los Amigos Invisibles at the House of Vans in CDMX sums up, closing with “Lies”, “The one I like” and more: This is one of the freshest and most fun bands that Latin American music has given in the last era.
