Viersen.
Two criminals have already disappeared from the closed psychiatric ward since Thursday. A tracker had lost their scent.

Two criminals escaped from the closed psychiatric hospital in Viersen-Süchteln. The police in Viersen said on Friday that it was a 21-year-old arsonist and a 36-year-old robber and rapist.

Her absence was noticed on Thursday evening. A sniffer dog was used in the immediately initiated search, but lost the track at a bus stop.

Both men were not in the high-security area

Both men were housed in the closed forensic prison, but not in the high-security area, said a spokeswoman for the Rhineland Regional Association, which runs the clinic. They could have cut a hole in a fence in the garden and escaped through it. A threat to others cannot be ruled out.

The police said the 21-year-old was about 1.80 meters tall, slim and often wore his shoulder-length, black hair in a ponytail. The 36-year-old is about 1.90 meters tall and slim. He has dark blonde, very short hair. (dpa)
