Still something behind the gills? Unfortunately no longer in Britta Richter’s cultural center. It’s a bit hidden between Havel, C&A and the Karstadt car park in the old town of Berlin-Spandau – and complains about a cold kitchen.

The “Kiezküchen” are finally out, the bistro “Unvernunft” above the cinema is dark, reports the Spandau newsletter from the Tagesspiegel (in full at tagesspiegel.de/districts). Is there anything else going on?

A new operator with kitchen ideas is now being sought. The district office around culture and real estate councilor Carola Brückner, SPD, wants to reassign the gastronomy in the culture house. For this purpose, an operator is being sought by April 30th “who gives visitors the opportunity to buy drinks and food on the event days in the Kulturhaus. In addition, an inexpensive lunch menu is to be offered on weekdays,” the papers say. which you can find here in full.

The rental price is 7 euros per square meter, up to 130 square meters. “In the case of evening events, catering operations begin no later than 90 minutes before the start of the event and end after the end of the event,” the specifications say.

It used to be a substation

The house is a former substation built in the 1930s. Since 1986 it has been used as a cultural center – an institution of the district office. In addition to the cultural hall (140 seats), there is also the gallery on the ground floor, a studio stage on the roof (70 seats, was expanded in 2010) and daily ballet courses. The office of the Spandau partnership association is also on the third floor.

“In the house is also a cinemawho is also entitled to offer drinks and snacks at events.” Luckily, the M&M supply is secured one way or another.
