In a new interview with Jimmy KimmelJennfier Lopez opens up about the nerves she had ahead of her wedding to Ben Affleck.
Last August, the star couple said yes to each other for the second time.
A month before the wedding, the couple decided to go to Las Vegas and get married in secret, hoping to take the nerves out of the official ceremony.
Previously engaged
The artist says that her husband’s proposal came up after Lopez had expressed that she had intense nerves ahead of the wedding.
The 53-year-old says that the nerves were most likely due to the couple’s previous dating history.
Lopez and Affleck were together for a period in the 2000s, and got engaged in 2002. Unfortunately, the couple broke up after two years in 2004.

– The wedding was incredibly stressful
The singer candidly says that it was difficult to realize that they were actually going to get married, as the couple fell apart during the previous engagement.
– I definitely had a little PTSD. I thought “is this really happening”.
– We were of course happy, but I felt that the wedding was incredibly stressful, she says.
In the interview, Lopez clarifies that it was for this reason that Affleck came up with the proposal to go to Las Vegas.
– One day Ben said “Fuck it. Let’s go to Vegas and get married tonight,” says the artist.
The 53-year-old further reveals that the couple brought two of their children as witnesses to the spontaneous wedding.
Lopez has twins Emme and Maximillian (14) with her former partner, Marc Antony (54). Affleck is the parent of three children, Violet (17), Seraphina (14) and Violet (10), whom he has with ex-wife Jennifer Garner (50).
