Ten, who yesterday stopped the clock at 3:43.536, today has improved his performance to finish in 3:43.413 to the 3:42.605 of Chinese Li. The Valencian still has several opportunities to continue fighting for the medals at the Chris Hoy veldrome before leaving to play the road events. “The assessment is very positive; being on the podium is always positive. We are on the right track. Taking away the pursuit, which is the test that gives me the most respect for the effort it entails, now I see everything downhill. I know that I’m in good shape and I’m going to enjoy everything that’s left of the Championship. I hope to be fighting for another medal”, assured a happy Ricardo Ten after getting off the podium.

He escaped with a lap and a half to go when both were neutralized. “I’m happy with the race, not with the result; the scratch is what it has, there’s little room for manoeuvre. I had to make an extra effort to get away, but the Swiss came and clinched me, we stayed three or four meters… and perhaps if we had done the last five laps at the top we would have had the chance to get there”, declared the Spaniard.
