Russia warns of the "very urgent threat" of the spread of weapons delivered to Ukraine by allies

MADRID, (EUROPA PRESS) – The Russian authorities warned this Friday of the “very urgent threat” posed by the spread to other parts of the world of weapons delivered to Ukraine by its partners in the framework of the invasion, unleashed in February 2022 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We consider this threat to be very, very urgent,” said Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov, who has stressed that “Western weapons delivered to Ukraine are already being sold by various criminal groups in Europe.” “It is an inevitable process,” he has argued.

“The more weapons of this type are delivered to Ukraine, without accountability and security being guaranteed, the situation is linked to the great threats to global and world security, in a general context,” he said, as reported by the Russian news agency Interfax.

Peskov’s words come after the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, pointed out on Thursday in an interview with the newspaper ‘The Jerusalem Post’ to a “concern” about the systems delivered to Ukraine, given that “they have been found anti-tank weapons” on the borders with the country.

“We have concerns about any system that is delivered to Ukraine being used against us because they could fall into Iranian hands,” he said, while stressing that Israel “is in a peculiar situation” that “is different from that of Poland, Germany , France or any other Western country that is giving aid to Ukraine.”

Finally, Netanyahu lamented “the tragedy that is taking place in Ukraine.” “It is a horrible loss of life. We would like it to end and I think we are in a special situation where in the future we could be in a position to help end this conflict,” he concluded.
