LONG BEACH.- Seven people were injured on Saturday in a shooting in the Los Angeles area, four of them in critical condition.

Long Beach police officers responded to a report of shots fired around 11:15 p.m. in the area of ​​South Street and Paramount Boulevard, police said in a statement on social media.

At least seven people suffered gunshot wounds and were transported by emergency personnel or arrived by their own means to area hospitals.

Four of the victims were in serious condition and three others had non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The suspect or suspects fled before police arrived and there was initially no confirmation about a possible motive for the shooting, police said.
