Berlin/Brussels
It is the first night train connection of the young company European Sleeper. After a long delay, the Berlin – Brussels route is scheduled to start in spring 2023.

The young Belgian-Dutch railway company European Sleeper wants to offer a night train between Berlin and Brussels from May. The journey from Berlin Central Station is offered on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and takes about ten and a half hours, the company said.

The first connection is planned for May 25th, and ticket sales should begin on February 20th.

In addition to Hanover, further stops are planned on the way to Brussels, including in Hanover, Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Antwerp. Seats should be available from 49 euros, a lounger in a six-seater compartment from 79 euros. With a reservation for 24 euros, bicycles would also be taken along.

First route of the company

According to its own statements, European Sleeper was founded in 2021. According to the website, the Berlin-Brussels route is the company’s first route. An extension via Dresden to Prague was announced for the turn of the year 2023/2024 – a start in Prague was therefore the original plan.

The start of the first night train connection from European Sleeper had already been announced several times for 2022, but had to be canceled again and again. It is not yet known where European Sleeper will rent the cars for May 2023. “We are still in talks with several companies to get additional cars,” quoted the “Berliner Zeitung” co-founder Chris Engelsman. Accordingly, it is still unclear who provides the locomotive and the drivers.
