On the day that marks three years since the murder of Fernando Baez Sosa and within the framework of the last day of hearings in the trial against the rugby players in the town of Dolores, a crowd came to the “Libres del Sur” Municipal Amphitheater, to pay a heartfelt tribute to the 18-year-old and to accentuate the demand for justice

“Let’s hope that the justice system, in which we have so much faith, will act as it should and that the punishment will be exemplary so that the young people who are now on the beach having fun can return to their homes with their parents, their families”

from there they spoke Graciela and Silvino Baez Sosa, Fernando’s parents, who once again requested an “exemplary punishment” by the judicial apparatus. Faced with deafening applause, the young man’s father said: “We continue to demand justice” after thanking the people for their unconditional support: “We hope that justice, in which we have so much faith, acts as it should and that the punishment is exemplary for that the young people who are now on the beach having fun can return to their homes with their parents, their families,” he said to the applause of the people present.

And he added: “We need justice to be able to live a bit in peace. It is not easy to explain to people that every time I get up in the morning, it is like waking up with a bag on my back. It is a huge weight that I have on top of me, too my partner Graciela that we try to help each other to move forward,” he said.

At the same time, they released white balloons to honor Fernando’s memory and a mass was held where several candles were lit. The ceremony held in the town of Dolores where the trial against the 8 defendants is taking place was also joined simultaneously by other groups of people who gathered with posters in different parts of the country.
