On the night of Sunday, January 22, a motorized agent from the Peruvian National Police (PNP) arrested an alleged gang of extortionists who were inside a vehicle. These are four subjects who carried weapons of war and loaded grenades inside a backpack. However, the good work of the troops managed to dismantle the alleged criminal gang.

This fact It happened on the 14 block of Jirón Alhucemas in the Las Flores urbanization, in San Juan de Lurigancho. According to the report, it was about two men and two women of Venezuelan origin who were consuming liquor inside a vehicle.
These citizens were caught drinking liquor on public roads, so a police officer who was in the area decided to check the interior of the car, which was apparently a taxi.
Thanks to the work of a cash, the suspects could be arrested; however, at the time of the intervention, only one agent was able to notice what was inside the car. Following this, the agent called reinforcements to proceed with the arrest.
Inside the car, a blue backpack was found that had a revolver stocked with 4 rounds of ammunition without percussions, along with a war grenade. For their part, the staff Explosives Disposal Unit (UDEX), arrived at the scene to deactivate the weapons of war and prevent it from detonating.

Neighbors ask for justice
This event alarmed a large group of people from the neighborhood, who were able to see the entire process of arresting the Venezuelans. Likewise, residents expressed their fears to the press and demanded that security be increased in the area.
“We are all scared around here. There is no security, you can’t get out or anything”, declared a neighbor for Panamericana Televisión, who was frightened by the arrest.
Finally, the detainees were transferred to the District’s Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dirincri) and were investigated by the PNP.
