The outdoor pool season can come – at least when it comes to the Berliner Bäder-Betriebe (BBB). This was announced by Europe’s largest municipal pool operator on Monday. And the water doesn’t stay ice cold.

“We can preheat the water in the summer pools to about the same level as last year,” says Johannes Kleinsorg, CEO of the BBB. The Olympiastadion summer pool opens on April 29th, the Kreuzberg summer pool (Prinzenbad) on April 30th and the Am Insulaner (Schöneberg) and Neukölln pools on May 1st. The Wannsee lido has been open since Good Friday.

Investments were also made in the organisation: improvements to the online shop for admission tickets should make admission smoother. If you have an online ticket, season ticket or multiple tickets, you can use one of the express entrances.

There is construction going on in these outdoor pools

The Senate allocated around 152 million euros for investments to the BBB – more than ever before. Visitors to the summer pool in Pankow can now lie on sun terraces that have been renovated for 1.5 million euros.

In the Summer pool in Wilmersdorf will be built by mid-June – that’s the plan. The bathing and swimming pools are renovated and lined with stainless steel. Technical systems are renewed. Parts of the bathing area and the green area will also be redesigned.

The construction work in Stadtbad Tiergarten and in the Small swimming pool in Wuhlheide should be completed in the fall. The renovation in Paracelsus Bath in Reinickendorf will be completed in the coming year.

The construction work for the thorough renovation and modernization of the Wave pool at Spreewaldplatz in Kreuzberg start in summer. In the Swimming pool on Zingster Strasse in Hohenschoenhausen construction work will begin in the fall.
