The tragedy that hit Ukraine (but not only) due to the Russian invasion reaps victims among the developers of GSC Game World: the team that is shaping the post-apocalyptic RPG STALKER 2 mourns the disappearance of Vladimir Yezhova Game Designer who took up arms to defend his motherland.

According to the report of the events provided by the local press and by bulletins sent to the front, Vladimir Yezhov (known by his colleagues as “Fresh”) would have been killed during a battle fought near Bakhmut while defending himself from an assault brought by the Russian invaders.

Among the historical developers of GSC Game World, the now ex STALKER Clear Sky Game Designer decided to temporarily abandon all his duties related to STALKER 2 due to the horror of the war in Ukraine: like many of his other colleagues, Yezhov in fact chose to espouse the cause of the Ukrainian resistance and join the forces of liberation of the territories occupied by the Russian army following the invasion that began on 24 February.

For the moment, the leaders of GSC Game World have preferred not to comment on the news of the disappearance of Vladimir “Fresh” Yezhov: the last post shared by the Ukrainian software house, dated December 24th, is a greeting message with which the authors of STALKER 2 explain that “2022 was a difficult year, with many hard moments and with a broken heart. But there have been some good things too and we know next year will be a much brighter year for all of us!”.
