Taylor Sheridan Says More About The Yellowstone Spinoff Series With Matthew McConaughey

The director is preparing the next spin-off of the series, of which the Interstellar actor will be the new face.

There is something new for the universe of Yellowstone. Taylor Sheridan reveals a little more about the next spin-off of the series, which will mark a “new chapter” for the franchise according to him.

Last April, we learned that Matthew McConaughey had signed for this new program, still rooted in the Dutton universe, but which would take place in parallel with the original story carried by Kevin Costner. Good news for the actor Bodyguard who had only one desire: to leave the series to devote himself to other projects, including his own western, named Horizon.

Matthew McConaughey will therefore take over and take over the franchise. “Seems like a good choice to me”said Taylor Sheridan in an interview for The Hollywood Reporter.

“We talked about it over the years, and we exchanged some ideas. And then he started looking at Yellowstone and was quite receptive. He told me ‘I want to do this’. And by ‘that’, he meant to dive into a raw world that opposes the modern world”he added.

The series creator also hinted that the spin-off will feature a completely new cast and filming location.

“There are still many places where a way of life that existed 150 years ago is possible. This story can be told in many places”he also added, remaining evasive.

For the moment, the project is only in its infancy, but Taylor Sheridan has already planned other prequels for Yellowstone. They will then follow the line of 1883 et 1923 with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.
