The interview that took place between the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune and several media, on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, celebrated on Wednesday May 3, 2023, is broadcast on several public and private media during this evening of Saturday May 6, and during which, the Head of State addressed several subjects, including the press and the media in Algeria.
President Tebboune affirmed that the Government is ready to put all the necessary means at the disposal of all newspapers, without exception.
In addition, the President of the Republic also said, “We accept criticism when it is with a pure and patriotic intention aimed at correcting errors. »
Expressing also his wish that the Algerian media institutions will forcefully deter the enemies of the fatherland and defend its interests. The President of the Republic also said “We don’t want a press that applauds nor a press that attacks. »
Finally, President Tebboune expressed the wish to have an objective press which arouses interest and fear abroad.
