The CGT requested measures against inflation and poverty / web

The board of directors of the CGT convened a commemorative act for International Labor Day for May 2 at the Defensores de Belgrano club stadium and ratified the call for a political-economic and social consensus to emerge from the crisis, at the same time who spoke for “a model with social justice.”

The labor union deliberated for the first time in 8 months and debated the complicated socio-economic situation. At the meeting, a document was approved stating that “inflation and poverty rates must lead the priorities for the adoption of urgent measures and actions.”

And a strong warning is included: “The entire leadership in general must be aware that there is no more room for economic deterioration without the risk of social decomposition.”

At the end of the meeting, the co-head of the CGT Héctor Daer (Health) denounced that there are “speculative operations in the economy” by “well-to-do sectors” and questioned the “bravado” of some opposition figures, alluding to Javier Milei , Mauricio Macri and Patricia Bullrich, for which he called for “prioritizing the political debate and finding conducive paths” to get out of the crisis.

In this framework, the workers’ union made a gesture to the management of Economy Minister Sergio Massa, whom it invited to the event on May 2. The Tigrense has just formalized the decision to apply an exemption from Earnings to the additional agreements such as a bonus for productivity, mobility, per diem and overtime, which had been being claimed by the unions.

The meeting was headed by the driving trident Héctor Daer, Carlos Acuña and Pablo Moyano, who finally attended the meeting after reports that questioned his presence.

In addition to the triumvirate, Andrés Rodríguez, Gastón Frutos, Rodolfo Daer, Cristian Jerónimo, José Luis Lingeri, Amadeo Genta, Julio Piumato, Omar Plaini and Víctor Santa María, among others, were on the front page. But there were absences: Mario Manrique, union secretary, and Abel Furlán, secretary of the interior of the workers’ union.

The agenda was marked by the difficulty of the unions to face the harsh inflationary process with parities to the limit. The diagnosis is shared: only with constant salary negotiations, it is not enough. The need for government measures to contain the rise in prices was a unanimous demand.

“The political leadership, without partisan distinctions, without partisan differences, without differences between officialisms or circumstantial oppositions and with the responsibility of being depositories of the trust and representation that the citizenry grants them through the vote, must assume the commitment that fits in the succession of recurring crises that over the years have led our country to the situation. They must assume the commitment to establish themselves as guarantors of collective well-being, both to minimize the effects of the crisis as well as to promote socioeconomic recovery and establish the pillars for sustained, sustainable and inclusive growth in the medium and long term,” the document stated.

Finally, the CGT called for “the implementation of an economic model of inclusive growth, which favors culture and the value of work, which equitably distributes the fruits of that effort.”
