The Ibex 35 maintains the upward trend: it rises 1.3% in the mid-session and exceeds 11,000 points

The Ibex 35 rose 1.33% in the mid-session this Tuesday, which has allowed it to recover the 11,000 points lost at the beginning of April, driven by a relaxation of geopolitical tensions, the presentation of business results and the publication of the Eurozone PMI index.

In a week full of business results, Enags has reported a net profit of 65.3 million euros in the first quarter of the year, which represents 19.5% more than in the same period of the last year, a result that allows it to advance as planned for achieve the annual objective of profits in the range of 260-270 million euros. For its part, the Renault group recorded a turnover of 11,707 million euros in the first quarter of the year, a figure 1.8% higher than that of the same period in 2023, as reported this Tuesday by the company, which after the results of the first three months of the year, has confirmed its financial objectives for 2024.

Also in the business field, Telefnica has reported before the market opening that it has reached 96.85% of the shares of its German subsidiary, Telefnica Deutschland, after completing the exclusion public acquisition offer (OPA) launched by the operator on March 7. On the other hand, Grifols has announced the signing of a private placement of 1,000 million euros in senior secured bonds at 7.5%, maturing in April 2030, subject to the usual closing conditions for this type of operations.

At the macroeconomic level, highlights the publication of the eurozone composite purchasing managers’ index (PMI), which shows that the growth of private sector activity in the eurozone has accelerated in April to highs in the last eleven months, driven by the expansion continuation of the service sector. In this context, the Ibex 35 was trading at 11,034.6 integers, with Grifols as a bullish value, registering a rise of 4.52% in the middle section of the session. In the foreign exchange market, the price of the euro against the dollar advanced to 1.0661 greenbacks, while in the debt market the interest required on the 10-year Spanish bond fell to 3.246%, while the interest premium risk fell to 77 basis points.
