Jacksonville, FL.- A huge ship of the Japanese company Ocean Network Express (ONE) became the first deep-draft vessel to enter the Port of Jacksonville (JaxPort).

One Stork (A Stork), the large container ship, arrived at JaxPort on May 9, from Asia bringing with it household appliances, clothing, furniture, among other products. The ship’s total capacity is 14,000 containers and it is one of the largest sailing on the East Coast.

ASTONISHMENT

The ship’s arrival is the result of dredging the St. Johns River to a depth of 47 feet in 2022.

Being me originally from Jacksonville is more excitingsaid Eric Green, CEO of JaxPort, speaking of the vessel, which is as big as more than four football fields.

PROJECTION

One Stork It will be one of nine new high-capacity ships that will be able to enter the port on a weekly basis, as the local orchard has updated its systems for the capital.

The new cargo traffic activity will help grow the 138,000 jobs that exist thanks to JaxPort’s trade and increase the economic impact of 31 billion dollars annually in the state.

Raising power lines is the next big project to allow even large shipments to arrive at the port.
