– Both the male and the female mark territories and a territory can be very large, 50,000-150,000 hectares. How big the territory will be around Kosta is difficult to say right now, says Rune Håkansson, wolf tracker for the County Administrative Board in Kronoberg County.
The male is said to have wandered from his former territory in Dalarna, while the female has been tracked from a territory north of Linköping.
It has now been confirmed that the pair has formed territories east of Kosta in Lessebo municipality, and in the future it is likely that more territories will arise in Småland, says Rune Håkansson.
– It is busier in central and northern Sweden, while it is free here, so to speak. This pair may have puppies in the spring and it is likely that more territories will be formed in the future, he says.
