Joaqun Manso, director of EL MUNDO, was the godfather of the graduation of all the master’s degrees that are associated with the School of Editorial Unity (ESUE) in an act that took place on the Montepríncipe Campus of the CEU San Pablo University, the prestigious academic entity with which the ESUE collaborates to ensure the best training for his student body

The event was attended by all the graduates of the masters in Sports Journalism from MARCA; in Fashion and Beauty Communication from TELVA and YO DONA; and in Journalism of EL MUNDO, in a preliminary stage for everyone before entering the different newsrooms of these media outlets, which are leaders in their respective current affairs.

“We are facing the greatest industrial revolution in history due to the growing interconnection of society (…) and you will be the protagonists of that revolution,” said Joaquín Manso who, curiouslywas a student of the Master of EL MUNDO 17 years ago, and that, in turn, claimed, more than ever, the need for journalism that will be embodied by all the students who graduated in this solemn act.

The Master of Specialized Sports Journalism was attended by its co-directors, Juan Castro -who writes this-, from MARCA; and Juan Carlos Nieto, on behalf of the CEU, in addition to the 44 students who wanted to attend their graduation in person (41 from the face-to-face edition and three from the ‘online’ edition). All of them will have the opportunity to develop the skills acquired in these eight months of training for six (more) months in writing.

The fact that the Master MARCA is, by far, the most numerous in terms of students gives an idea of the growing importance that sports journalism is acquiring among the young ‘cubs’ of this profession. The Master MARCA is nourished by students from Spain, but also by many who come from other countries from the entire Ibero-American community. Also present at the event were the directors of the ESUE: Rafael Moyano and Eugenio Gallego.

In a few days the MARCA editorial office will be abuzz with ideas and new proposals of these new students who are already “masters of journalism”, paraphrasing María Solano, the dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences who illuminated the act with her positivism.
