They allocate $64 million for the school transportation service

The designated secretary of the Department of Education, Yanira Raíces Vega, announced on Friday an investment of $64 million in federal funds, for the school transportation service for the next semester.

It is estimated that 39,436 students will benefit, distributed in 26,566 of Regular Current and 11,870 of Special Education.

In preparation for the start of school, the agency indicated that they carry out inspections and drills on school buses, ensuring their adaptation to safety standards.

Transportation services for Special Education students include: Porter Service with 5,871 students, Regular Transportation with 5,218, and Therapy Porter for 781 students.

“We are working so that all the buses and drivers comply. Our seven educational regions are validating the lists of benefited students”, emphasized Raíces Vega.
