Cairo, April 28. A ship was the target of a shooting attack south of the coast of Nishtun, in Yemen, without the details being known at the moment or if the incident has caused any injuries, reported the British Navy entity Commercial Maritime Operations (UKMTO). , for its acronym in English).

In an alert, the UKMTO said it had received a report of “a ship under attack” off the coast of Yemen, which had been “shot at”.

The entity also indicated that three other boats were sighted, each with three or four people on board.

The UKMTO did not provide further details of the incident or identify the vessel, but advised vessels transiting those waters to “take precautions.”

The waters of the Persian Gulf have been the scene of various incidents in recent years, such as acts of sabotage against oil tankers and cargo ships, some of them by placing limpet mines in the hulls of ships, and even boardings and kidnappings.

Iran has been implicated in several of these events, on some occasions accused of its authorship by the Arab countries on the other shore or by Israel, whose vessels have been involved in some of them.

Just on Thursday, the Iranian Navy claimed it seized a Marshall Islands-flagged tanker in the Gulf of Oman because it “collided” with an Iranian vessel and fled the scene of the accident, an incident first denounced by the United States. Joined. EFE
