Four miles on the banks of the Hudson River

Riverside Park stretches four miles along the splendid banks of the Hudson River, from 72nd Street to 158th Street.

It is widely considered the most spectacular waterfront park in Manhattan, and is one of eight outdoor spaces that have been designated as official landmarks in our city.

Riverside Park offers several types of landscapes, containing rocky cliffs, jungle meadows, and groves of mature elm trees.

Starting from Riverside Drive, the terrain drops steeply in three levels, to an artificial shoreline and boardwalk, built between 1937 and 1941.

Riverside Park is a place for the whole family, with various recreational facilities, including sports courts and fields, a skate park, and a large portion of the Manhattan Waterfront Greenway, which is ideal for cycling.

The park also contains a public marina with 110 boat slips, on 79th Street.

Riverside Park is part of our city’s public park system.
